Devlog 06: Production week 3

Hello welcome back to another update on Underfed.

Our last 2 devlogs were not very indepth because we made them last minute before our deadline for that week.

This week we started our first week of our second sprint. This sprint lasts for 3 weeks. After this sprint we have 2 weeks left of polish before our game needs to be completed.

This week we added:

Animations for our player character & customers. 2 new customer NPC models & some more decorations.
The fact that we can spawn more then one NPC :D
The logic for the NPC to actually get angry :D thou only in code :(
The NPC does not run away anymore when entering the building :D
An actual score, the code is already setup but we need  to work on the code for a couple more items before we can make use of it.

Changes:
The AI needed to be redone; we changed it so that can move on faster the next couple of weeks. The animations don't hold the hands still when holding a plate yet, but we will try to fix that before next weeks devlog. This week we definitely made some progress, the npc's can sit (more like snap and stay in place) on the tables now and you can interact with the table to change the state of the npc's sitting on it. We only have groups of one npc for now so the code is a little bit janky at some parts just to make the mechanic work temporarily. but not that much work should be required to implement a family since we made it with the mindset that those would come.

Art:

This week we created a rig for the characters in our game and made some animations.

Some pictures of our rig & animations made in maya:

We completed 2 more models of our customers: Their facial features will be added later.

Here is the current layout of our restaurant:

The kitchen area is in the top left as well as the washing station, the broom closet with cleaning equipment is to the right of that.

Customers will enter & leave the restaurant through the door top right

Some closer ups of the tables in our restaurant.

A close up of the broom closet, the closet has an opening & closing animation. Inside of the closet is a mop & a bucket.

Our first dish is also created! Modelled in 3dsmax and painted in substance painter we present our first delicious meal. Roasted pork
Because food is what our game is about we try and make our food look as crisp as possible. We hope to get you hungry with the  yummy food you will be serving in the restaurant.
